摘要：keyword: ENGLISH-INDONESIAN, TRANSLATION, ROALD DAHLABSTRACT :Short story is one of kinds of interesting thing to read. Almost young people likereading short story than other so that the writer chooses short story to betranslated. Another reason the writer chooses to translate, those is that the writerwants to test the ability of the writer that she has had from translation subject.Particularly from English into Indonesian. Some languages demand triedelaborate system of lexicon classifiers, grammatical structures, situationalcontexts, and cultural contexts. The aims of this study are to find out thetranslation of The Magic Finger from English into Indonesian, and to find outthe difficulties in translating The Magic Finger. In translating The MagicFinger, the writer found difficulties, the writer found difficulties such aslexicon, idiomatic expression and grammatical structure. And the writer hopesthat lectures can explain more about difficulties in translation in order tostudents can solve those problems when they face them.
