摘要：keyword: COMPARATIVE STUDY, TRANSLATION COMPARISONDEGREE, NOVEL, SUMMER'S END, AKHIR MUSIM PANASABSTRACT :English has three comparison degrees; positive degree, comparative degree, and superlative degree. Bahasa Indonesia has also three comparison degrees. Eachlanguage has its own pattern and characteristic. In this research paper, the writertries to find out what are the equivalents of English Comparison Degree inIndonesian by applying the method, which is qualitative method. By usingnovels Summers End by Danielle Steel and the Indonesian version entitledAkhir Musim Panas by Suwarni A.S, we may know what are theirequivalents. The result for this research concludes the translations of EnglishComparison Degree; English Positive Degree are translated by adding the word sama in front of the adjectives, and adding prefix se- to the adjectives, English Comparison Degree are translated by using the word lebih before the adjectives,and using the word kurang before the adjectives, for English Superlative Degreeare translated by adding prefix ter- to the adjectives. There are also translations,which are not translated according to the form, in this case to get the closest orequivalent meaning in Indonesian.
