Amir, a male from Afghanistan who needsto find his way in the world as he realizes that his own belief system is not thatof his dominant culture. As an adult, Amir also needs a way to atone for achildhood indiscretion, when an act of cowardice costs him more than just afriendship. It is the story of both fathers and sons and friends and brothers.Through this conflicts, the writer found a lot of characters, which are the maincharacter and the supporting characters. The problems of this research are: Whatare the characteristics of the main character (Amir) and Who are the supportingcharacters that appear in this novel. The aims of this research are to find out thecharacteristic of the main character (Amir) and the supporting characters thatappear in the novel. The writer uses Qualitative method which is collecting andarranging all of the data were taken from novel and some books, which arerelated to the topic that is character analysis of the main character. In this novelThe Kite Runner, Amir tells about his life which is unexpected, Discussingabout Amir is interesting to be analyzed because he is talented, willing tosacrifice, religious person, he is liar, he is a donor person and gentlemanly. Ingeneral, The Kite Runner is an moving and exciting novel to read that can give alot of morality messages to the reader.
