摘要：ABSTRACT :Short story is one of kind interesting thing to read. Almost young people likereading short story than other so that the writer chooses short story to betranslated. There is a short story that the writer translated is Brothers bySherwood Anderson. Here the writer tried to translate an English short story intoIndonesian as closely and naturally as possible. The translation must be natureand easy to understand so that the reader will find it easy to grasp the massage inshort story. The aims of this research have two objectives those are to practice awriters skill in translation and to recognize the point of the massage from theauthors. The short story entitled Brothers tells about a murdered in thecountry, the Chicago newspapers have been filled with the story of a murder thata man kills its wife and there seems no reason for the deed. The advised is if oneof our family have get a disease of crazy, we must give a treatment or companyto the doctor for check up, if not it would get the happen dislike.
