摘要：The ability of using English in the era of globalization is very needed. If wewant to be able to use English, we have to master English grammar. AndSimple Past Tense is one of the important tense in grammar and commonly usedin English. Irregular verb in English Grammar is complicated and cause manydifficulties for students. The aims of this research are to describe the commonerrors that students made in using simple past tense, and it is found from thepercentage of error answers made by the students in using simple past tense.The writer using field research and giving test to the students as samples. To getmore data and to complete the data the writer uses a field research also takessome data from the books and browses internet. From the result of the test,there are common errors made by the students include: 1. The structure forquestion sentences in the simple past tense, 2. Verbs which change theirmeaning depend on whether they are regular or irregular, 3. Verb of past tense(irregular).
