摘要：keyword: ERROR ANALYSIS, ADJECTIVE WORD, MODIFY, NOUNABSTRACT :In this study, An Error Analysis on Adjective Word Order in Modifying a Noun (a case study at third year students, Faculty of Letters of GunadarmaUniversity), the writer wishes to find out the students errors on the EnglishAdjectives Word Order. The purposes of this study are to identify theunderstanding of the students in using two or more adjective to modify a nounand the problem faced by the students. The subject of this study is the third yearstudents, Faculty of Letters of Gunadarma University (year 2004). The numbersof the population are 85 students. The samples taken are 40 students and thetechnique employed is random sampling. Based on the analysis, theunderstandings of the students on adjectives word order are good enough,especially when they used two and three adjectives. On the other hand, theyhave weak understanding in using of four or more adjectives. The problemfaced by the students in using two or more adjectives together to modify a nounis they do not know the pattern of adjectives word order, especially, when thereare two or more adjectives in modifying a noun.
