摘要：This paper is an error analysis, which is analyzing the ability of the firstsemester students of English Department in Gunadarma University inunderstanding of article. The population is 60 students, from the first students.The aims of the study are to find out the ability of the students in using andunderstanding the article. And then, to find out the article errors that the studentsmake This study focuses on error analysis on article. This study carried out toidentify and describe the kind of article. The result of the study, the writer give30 sample based on 4 category of an article a, an, the and ∅ (zero article).The data are presented in tables. From the table of the summary of errorcalculation, it showed that the highest is 60% in category article the. From thediscussion, the writer got the cause of errors which were done by the firstsemester students of English Department, Gunadarma University, might comethat the students not really understand about using of article a, an, the and∅ (zero article).
