Nitta Sayuri wasnot born and raised to be a Kyoto geisha. She was not even born in Kyoto. Sheis a fishermans daughter from a little town called Yoroido on the Sea of Japan.In all her life, she was never told more than a handful of people anything at allabout Yoroido, or about the house in which she grew up, or about her motherand father, or her older sister, Satsu. And certainly not about how she became ageisha, or what it was like to be one. Most people would much rather carry onwith their fantasies that her mother and grandmother were geisha. When fifteenyears old she become a geisha and she met a man who love her. From the storyabove, the writer sees that to know as one of Japanese Cultures.
