摘要：The aims of this research are to describethe English lexical errors made by thestudents in writing English and to explainthe causes of the English lexical errors. Inthis research, the writer used a qualitativemethod. The population of this research isthe 2nd grade student of Faculty of Letters,Gunadarma University. And the sample is64 students. The source of the data is thestudent’s English writing. The result ofthis research is there are two types oflexical errors which are content worderrors and function word errors. Thedominant error is the function word errors57%, meanwhile the content word errors43%. There are two kinds of errors causeswhich are interlingual errors 41% andintralingual errors 59%. Intralingual errorsare the majority.
