摘要:ABSTRACT :Reading a novel is something interesting. It can bring a pleasure and knowledgeto the readers. It is one of ways to appreciate a work of literature. When thewriter reads this novel, he is interested in discussing the moral aspects in themain character, because this is one of Robert Louis Stevensons great horrorand thus a pillar of what most critics take to be the apex of Robert LouisStevenson dramatic art. Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hydes novel that isfull range of emotion, incident, mystery and horror aspects, which makes thereaders felling unsteady. This novel tells us about a dual personality muchdepicted in plays and films, also influential in the growth of understanding ofthe subconscious mind through its treatment of a kind and intelligent physicianwho turns into a psychopathic monster after imbibing a drug intended toseparate good from evil in a personality. Mr. Utterson is a British lawyer whowants to prove that Hyde is a foul, twisted, shrunken creature that had brutallystomped a little girl and beaten an old man to death with no reason. In his way toprove, Mr.Utterson faced by a lot of mysteries and incidents. Mr. Utterson is acharacter that essentially describes the plays main plot, takes a key part in it,and gives fist-hand direction to the others. The writers aim of study in thisthesis is to describe the moral aspects in the main character in Strange Case ofDR. Jekyll and MR. Hyde. In this research method, the writer used two sourcesof data, the main source and the secondary source. The main source is takenfrom novel entitled Strange Case of DR. Jekyll and MR. Hyde and thesecondary source is taken from Internet, and furthermore. The writer uses alibrary research technique by collecting data from libraries and others referencesbooks. Internet services also are the source information for the writer. Inanalyzing data the writer was categorizing the moral aspects of Mr. Uttersonfound in the novel Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde into three parts suchas individual, his relation to society, and his relation to God, then explain thedata, and making conclusions.
