摘要：ABSTRACT :Reading novel is something enjoyable and exciting. Besides bringing pleasure, italso brings knowledge to the readers. Novel usually offers fictional stories aboutlove, human values, intrigue, betrayal, wisdom, and life itself. This researchpaper is meant to show that the characters are found in The Age of Innocence.To support this research paper, the writer uses the novel The Age of Innocenceand the books that support in analyzing the characters. In this scientific researchpaper, the writer is interesting in discussing about the major character. By usinga psychological approach the writer is expected to find out about the majorcharacter in this novel. There are several characters in this novel that comes sovarious. Most of the characters have round character type and behavioral type asa dependent person. There are three characters which are analyzed in this paper,Newland Archer, May Welland, and Ellen Olenska. They must struggle to findwhat they really want, what was right for them, and the effect of Old New Yorksociety to their life.
