摘要：keyword: TRANSLATION, ARYN BAKER, ARTICLEABSTRACT :In this research paper, the writer conducts translation of an article entitled A Womans Place taken from Time Magazine. The writer takes this articlebecause it is very interesting to read and also interesting to know about womenin Afghanistan which started to realize their rights and they try hard to makeemancipation for women. The article A Womans Place tells about the powerof women in Afghanistan in fighting for their right, including political right.They had many struggle to remove the image of women, who were forbidden,so they can not show their face in public. After translating the article, the writerfinds some problems of translation toward the article, such as grammaticalcontext, vocabulary problems, and cultural context. There are some wordswhich can not be translated because it is idiomatic word. From this study, thewriter concludes that there are some problems in translating an article. Thewriter uses dictionaries, grammatical textbooks, and internet in order to solvethe problems. Besides, it makes the writer more understand how to translate an article and make it clearer and understandable. The writer hopes that thisresearch can be a guideline for readers, especially translators in translatingeither it is in article or a book.
