摘要：Novel is one of literary works, the story in novel has a purpose to our life.Through the story, readers are indirectly capable of learning, understanding andknowing the variety of life problems. The Cottage is one of the best novels fromDanielle Steel. Her novel is internationally well known, and become the bestsellers in popular bookstores through out the world. In this study the writerfound the problem, what are the causes of stress in Mark Friedman Life andwhat kind of that stress characteristic does the character suffer from. And theaims of this study are to explain the causes of stress in Mark Friedman Life andto find out the kinds of that stress characteristic does the character suffer from.The method of this study is qualitative method, the sourche of data in this studyis taken from Danielle Steels Novel. From many characteristic of stress, thewriter find out of the causes of stress in Mark Friedman life. There are inpsychosocial aspect, like frustration, overload, and derivational stress.
