摘要：ABSTRACT :This research paper is an analysis of active and passive sentences. The writerchooses active and passive sentences because active and passive sentences areone of the basic grammars that are usually used by people in speaking orwriting. The aim of writing this research paper is because the writer wants toknow how far the active-passive mastery possessed by the students. The writeruses questionnaire in analyzing the mastery of active and passive sentences forthe third year students of Faculty of Letters of Gunadarma University. Thequestioner is in multiple choices which consist of 20 questions given to 30students as the samples. The result of the study shows that the studentsmastery level in active and passive voice is poor. Most of students havedifficulty in determining the used of the main verb in tenses, the conjugation aswell as in determining the main object and the main subject
