摘要：keyword: TRANSLATION, ARTICLE, HELLO MAGAZINEABSTRACT :Geisha is a high-class prostitution, which has been a known in the entire world until now. The reasons of writing this topic are because it is interesting toanalyze the differences between the terms of prostitution of Geisha, which areclosely related to Japanese culture with the terms in Indonesian culture. Thisresearch paper is entitled An English-Indonesian Translation of an Article in Hello Magazine The World of Geisha which the writer purposes to find outthe translation of the source language (English) into receptor language(Indonesian). This research is conducted by using qualitative method of whichdata of the source language (English) are taken from an article entitled TheWorld of Geisha written by Dir. Tatsumi Kumashiro, which are published inHello Magazine, in March 2007. Based on the process of translation based onNida and Taber (1969:12) in their book entitle The Theory and Practice ofTranslation that consists of Analysis, Transfer, Restructuring, Discussion. Thedifference revealed in the description of translation result takes form in culturalcontext, which is different between the Japanese topics written in English withIndonesian.
