摘要：ABSTRACT :English is a foreign language that must be taught at elementary school. Studyingand learning English can be introduced to children at first grade. Anotherreason is that children at 7 years old have important stage to study and childrenhave ability to learn English. The writer would like to know English teachingmethod for first grade students in the Elementary School Pondok Cina 1 Depok.The aim of this paper is to know the teaching method used at first grade studentsin the elementary school Pondok Cina 1 Depok. The method of teachingEnglish for first grade students in the Elementary School Pondok Cina 1 Depokused by the teacher is only total physical response. Because it can make thestudents more understand the lesson. In the Elementary School Pondok Cina 1Depok the students studied English once a week, on Friday. For first gradestudents in the elementary school is divided into two classes. Class 1A stars at07.30 am until 08.30 am 1B stars at 08.30 am until 09.30 am and the twoclasses are taught by one teacher.
