摘要：This research paper is to translate the novel �Oliver Twist� it is an English-Indonesian Translation. It is chosen because this story is very interesting to readand to know and the writer wants to know more about the story. The novel�Oliver Twist� tells about an orphan boy named Oliver Twist, he grows upin a workhouse, unloved and abuse. He runs away to London where he finds hisfirst taste of happiness living with thieves but it is dangerous life and they aredangerous people. Oliver only an innocent boy, he doesn�t know howdangerous they are. Finally Oliver finds a rich relation who happily looks afterhim. After translating the novel of Oliver Twist, the writer found manyproblems, such as : idiomatic expression, grammatical structure, culturalcontext, situational context. To solve the problems the writer uses theory oftranslation and dictionary of idioms.
