摘要：ABSTRACT :When I started reading this novel, I was very interested and surprised with thisstory of Coelhos novel. Because it gives me knowledge, pleasure, and advicesabout lifes values. In this research paper, the writer wants to tell aboutcharacteristics of Santiago in the novel The Alchemist written by PauloCoelho. Santiago has a high motivation and not easy to surrender to reach hisdream. The aim of this research is to find out the characteristics of Santiago andto find out factors that make Santiagos succeeded to find the treasure. Themethods of this research, to analyze this paper, the writer uses the libraryresearch to help writer to find the things that can explain the novel, collects thedata from the novel, a book and brows internet that has relation to the subject,English-Indonesian dictionary, and tries to explain and gives the conclusion
