  • 摘要:Goals to be achieved in this research is to identify the stressor (stressor) andstress coping housewives who are not working. In this study, researchers used adescriptive approach. Subjects in this study are housewives who do not worktotaling 50 people. The data was collected using an open questionnaire, used tomeasure the stressors and coping scale for measuring coping with stress. Tomeasure the stressor is done beforehand respon categorizing subjects answer thesame type, then grouped by stressor (stressor) according Sarafino (1998). Of allthese stressors when grouped in mind that the majority of stressors that are nothousewives work are from the family, the second of the individual self, and thethird from the environment or society. To measure stress coping doing validityand reliability by using Cronbach Alpha. Of the 52 items dimensions ProblemFocused Coping (PFC), Emotion Focused Coping (EFC), and maladaptiveCoping (MALC). At PFC dimension of 20 items tested there are 12 items thatvalid with a range between 0.301 to 0.605. Test reliability was obtained for0.805. At EFC dimension of 20 items tested was obtained 19 valid items with arange between 0.321 to 0.682. Test reliability was obtained for 0.904. While atMALC dimensions of 12 tested items obtained 10 valid items that rangebetween 0.355 to 0.632. Test reliability was obtained for 0.791. In general,research subjects using a kind of Emotion Focused Coping (EFC). After doingthe Descriptive Statistics Analysis research subjects who tended to have a highEFC strategy whereby an empirical mean of 59.56, which tends to PFC strategyis with an empirical for 33.96 and MALC strategies that tend to be low with anempirical mean of 19.00. The coping strategies used by housewives to work toovercome the stressor include Problem Focused Coping (PFC) by the ActiveCoping and suppression of Competing Activities. For the Emotion FocusedCoping (EFC) by Positive reinterpretation and growth, and Turning to Religion.The last one to maladaptive Coping (MALC) is a Mental Disengagement.
