摘要：Human beings lead their lives in interaction with others. Interaction requiresgood communication. One of the types of communications is oralcommunication among the deaf. Deaf teenagers are teenagers who experiencedlack or loss of ability to hear caused by damage or dysfunction of a part or all ofthe hearing organs so that they have difficulties in language development. Astime passes and for further development, a teenager will gradually becomeindependent. To express autonomy, one requires communication ability as ameans to achieve it. The inability of the deaf to communicate becomes difficultto communicate their thoughts, feelings, ideas, needs, and wishes to others.Therefore, this research wanted to know the relationship betweencommunication skills and the autonomy of deaf adolescents. Independentvariables in the study is communication skill and the dependent is dependency.The number of subjects in this study were 35 deaf teenagers who attendedSMPLB part B. The data was collected using Autonomy Scale to measureself-sufficiency, while the ability to measure the value of communicationlanguage courses was used. The result of the analysis shows that there is norelationship between communication skills and the autonomy of deafadolescents.
