摘要：Keyword: Key words: mental health, HIV victimsAbstrack:ABSTRACT :The term AIDS was officially accepted and used by Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the United States since September 14, 1982. AIDS caused by HIV or Human Immune Deficiency Virus. HIV attacks cells of the white blood human immune system functioning and ward off infections which eventually cause AIDS. AIDS was first found in Indonesia in April 1987, when a Dutch tourist who was a homosexual on vacation died in 1988 in Denpasar general Hospital. This study aims to find out mental health conditions in people with HIV, factors causing the mental health of HIV patients, and the development of the mental health of HIV patients. Research method used is a qualitative research. To collect the data, an interview and non-participant observation were employed. The characteristics of the subjects were the 2nd level HIV sufferers. The results of the analysis indicate that when they know themselves that they were suffering from HIV, they become quiet, closed to people around him and tried to commit suicide. Factors making them quiet and closed to people and even tried to commit suicide are that they were very regretful and felt guilty. The development of their mental health shows that they need more reinforcement from their environment.
