  • 摘要:ABSTRACT :This study aims to examine the relationship between personal distress with thecreative. Crowding is a subjective evaluation of the characteristics of thephysical setting, social setting characteristics, personal characteristics, andadaptability of individuals to each other in a group where the perceived size ofspace is insufficient, or the number of its people too much. Altman (in Prabowo1998) mentioned the factors that cause distress, the originator condition(situational factors, personal factors, and interpersonal conditions), organismfactors and psychological, as well as solve responses. The creative individual isthe individual who can adapt to almost any situation where they are not onlyable to deal with the situation but also able to handle it in ways fresh andinnovative. Csikszentmihalyi (in Utami Munandar 1999) suggests thecharacteristics of creative personality, the concentration-relax,convergent-divergent, discipline attitude, imagination, reality,introversion-extroversion, low self-pride, regardless of gender stereotypes(masculine-feminine), against -conservative, enthusiastic (passionate), objective, and very pain-ecstasy. Subjects in this study were residents in residential solidroad coach I, Palmeriam, Matraman, with characteristics: male and female, andaged at least 17 years old. Measurement of trouble using a scale of distress, while the creative individual measurements using creative personal scale. Basedon test validity, the correlation score of the total items on the scale of troublemoving between 0280-0623. While the total correlation score on the scale itemsof personal creative moves between 0277-0654. Reliability test is done by usingCronbach Alpha for the items that had survived the item analysis. Thecoefficient of reliability on the scale of trouble for 0851. While the coefficient ofreliability on the scale of the creative person for 0828. The results of this studyis there a relationship between crowding the creative individual. However, thisrelationship is negative, meaning the lower the distress, the higher level ofpersonal distress creative. The lower on distress results, caused by factorsincluding culture, experience, and the adaptation process in this case isassociated with ethnicity. As many as 93.33% of research subjects Javanesenation tribes. Javanese people who are already familiar with the situation denseand crowded, has no longer even feel the tightness in the crowded places. Thisadaptation also occurs because in general the research subjects who lived indense settlements, have lived since birth, so was familiar with the situation feelssolid and not cram anymore. This supports the statement of Bell et al (inPrabowo 1998) that the more frequent or constant of a stimulus, it would appearthat the process of psychological habituation (adaptation) and physical(habituation) in the form of the response caused the stimulus strength wasweakened. Age factor also affects the low level of crowding on the results ofthis study. In a relatively young age, individuals feel more cramped than theindividuals who are relatively older age. Because in this study subjects aged 30years and over more (older than other study subjects) that is approximately56.66%, the results of this study states did not feel crowded. In addition, there isalso the presence of others factors that affect the low levels of distress on theresults of this study. As many as 65% of research subjects have a number offamily members and as many as 5 people or less, so in general do not feelcrowded. The high level of creative person on whom the research results causedby the number of families who owned their research subjects. As many as 65%of research subjects have a number of family members and as many as 5 peopleor less. The explanation as proposed by Hurlock (1992) that children from smallfamilies are more creative because they have more opportunities to expressthemselves than children from large families, so they have more opportunities toexpress themselves.
