摘要:The term AIDS was officially accepted and used by Center for Disease Control(CDC) in the United States since September 14, 1982. AIDS caused by HIV orHuman Immune Deficiency Virus. HIV attacks cells of the white blood humanimmune system functioning and ward off infections which eventually causeAIDS. AIDS was first found in Indonesia in April 1987, when a Dutch touristwho was a homosexual on vacation died in 1988 in Denpasar general Hospital.This study aims to find out mental health conditions in people with HIV, factorscausing the mental health of HIV patients, and the development of the mentalhealth of HIV patients. Research method used is a qualitative research. Tocollect the data, an interview and non-participant observation were employed.The characteristics of the subjects were the 2nd level HIV sufferers. The resultsof the analysis indicate that when they know themselves that they were sufferingfrom HIV, they become quiet, closed to people around him and tried to commitsuicide. Factors making them quiet and closed to people and even tried tocommit suicide are that they were very regretful and felt guilty. Thedevelopment of their mental health shows that they need more reinforcementfrom their environment
