摘要：Keyword: Keywords : mother, child, take careAbstrack:ABSTRACT :Parenting is a process of interaction between parents and children, includes activities such as nurture, nourishes, protects and directs the child's behavior during the development of children and parents how to communicate the affective (feelings) and the norms prevailing in the community so that children can live in harmony with the environment. Single child was the only child who is owned by his parents so that a major outpouring of affection from his parents. This study aims to determine how parenting mothers of an only child. Subjects in this study was a single mother who has children, aged 8 years the subject of marriage. The focus of qualitative research in depth and process, qualitative research tends to be done with small amounts. Based on the above opinions, then the subjects in this study amounted to one person. Technique of data collecting conducted by observation and interview, the interview is an activity undertaken to obtain direct information by revealing the questions on the respondents. From the results of data analysis showed that subjects understand the needs of her child, loving the subject, the subject of discussion with his son and highly appreciate the role of his daughter, but the subject is not too spoiled child, the subject directs his son in a positive social development, demands that the subject aims to give children a individuals who are competent intellectually and socially, the subjects involved in the implementation of restrictions demands strict and consistent, create high expectations for her daughter, the subject is not too much to give freedom to his daughter, the subject always wanted to know what and how the activities of her daughter and always control the activities of his daughter at school or with whom he played, the subject always shows the expressions of warmth and affection toward his daughter.
