摘要:In recent years many research topics are involved with the supply chain management (SCM), one of them is the performance. However, performance of SC mostly depends on management decisions, which are often based on intuition and experience that easily causes problems for enterprises. For this reason, the aim of this work was to know if there is a correlation between the amount of logistic activities performed by the large automotive enterprises located in the city of Aguascalientes Mexico, with the amount of the downtime on the production line in minutes which are the index to measure the performance on this research, as well as outline the most important current activities of the SCM in the automotive sector. This research involved 19 large automotive enterprises that answered a survey. The results showed a significant negative correlation between the downtimes and the number of logistic activities performed by the own companies or by outsourcing enterprises in the state of Aguascalientes. This means that with more logistics activities performed, the companies will have less downtime in minutes, which finally is reflected in an improved performance of the SC of the automotive sector.
