标题:Review of ‘Metasomatism and the Chemical Transformation of Rock‐ The Role of Fluids in Terrestrial and Extraterrestrial Processes’ Geofluids (2014) New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources/Earth and Environmental Science Department, New Mexico Tech, Socorro, NM.
摘要:Metasomatism, the alteration of the
chemical composition of rocks and
minerals by interaction with aqueous
fluids, is an important process that
affects the composition and character-
istics of many terrestrial and extrater-
restrial rocks. This excellent book,
‘Metasomatism and the Chemical
Transformation of Rock. The Role of
Fluids in Terrestrial and Extraterres-
trial Processes’, edited by D. Harlov
and H. Austrheim and published by
Springer-Verlag as part of their ‘Lec-
ture Notes in Earth Systems Sciences’
series, presents a set of 15 chapters
by specialist authors that address
metasomatic processes in a number of
environments and from a number of
perspectives. Chapters include infor-
mation about composition of metaso-
matic fluids, thermodynamic
modeling, mechanisms of, structural
controls on, and geochronology of
metasomatism. Later chapters address
the metasomatic processes in a range
of environments, including the ocean
crust, subduction zones, metamor-
phic systems, and extraterrestrial
rocks. Topics of hydromechanical
modeling of metasomatism, as well as
geophysical mapping of fluid distribu-
tion within the crust, are also
addressed.
