摘要：How to preserve plastic and PVC Thousands of objects have been collected and prepared before the opening of the new exhibitions in the Tårnborg building. Many of the objects are made from modern materials, and this gave rise to a new set of challenges for the museum with regard to their treatment, exhibition and storage. The modern materials need to be treated differently to the traditional materials that the museum is used to dealing with. Especially the many types of plastics are subject to complex deterioration processes, and the objects had to be assessed and treated with consideration for their chemical make-up. An interdisciplinary approach where conservators worked with staff from other departments ensured that all these many objects were prepared and treated in the best ways to secure them for the future.
