摘要:Signal compression is an important problem encountered in many applications. Various techniques havebeen proposed over the years for addressing the problem. In this project Transform based signalcompression is proposed. This method is used to exploit the redundancy in the signal. This Paper usesWavelet Transform to compress the signals. We compare the two existing wavelet methods with theproposed algorithm to determine which of them has better compression ratio (CR) and percent rootmean square difference (PRD). The proposed method is significantly more efficient in compression,computation and it can attain exact bit rate control and generate a bit streams progressive in quality.Inorder to assess the performance of the algorithm the data sequences are taken from MIT-BIH and AHAarrhythmia database.
