摘要：Human face detection plays an important role in many applications such as face recognition , humancomputer interface, biometrics, area of energy conservation, video surveillance and face image databasemanagement. The selection of accurate color model is the first need of the face detection. In this paper, astudy on the various color models for face detection i.e. RGB, YCbCr, HSV and CIELAB are included. Thispaper compares different color models based on the detection rate of skin regions. The results shows thatYCbCr as compared to other color models yields the best output even in varying lightening conditions.
