摘要：An attempt is made to estimate the prevalence of inability to conceive (commonly referred to as infertility) and treatment-seeking behaviour in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, using the District Level Household Survey data collected in 2007–08 (DLHS-3). In Uttar Pradesh, infertility is estimated to be about 11 per cent in females aged 20–34 among the total ever-married women of reproductive age (20–49) whose marital duration is more than two years. Among infertile respondents, more than three-quarters suffer from primary infertility. Also, about 85.0 per cent of women seek treatment for lifetime infertility.
