摘要：The cultural networks —both formal and informal— between Spain and Latin America propitiated by the «Junta de Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas» brought Spain and its former colonies nearer, and on renewed assumptions. They also brought their cultures and realities closer through knowledge and mutual respect, and created on both sides of the Atlantic a scientific and intellectual community that shared common interests and projects. These cultural networks, weaved and institutionalized in certain countries through the creation of centers that helped to foster and regularize the exchanges, were also platforms that the Spanish Republicans had recourse to during exile.
