摘要:Solar still is a very simple solar device used for converting the available waste water in to fresh (potable drinking) water. This paper developed a solar still with reflecting booster and compared its performance with a conventional (without reflecting booster) of the same technical specifications to see the effects of reflecting booster on the performance of solar still. Based on the experiment, chamber temperature, glass temperature and amount of distillates were evaluated. The result shows that solar still with reflecting booster has higher performance compared to conventional. The higher productivity yield was due to the reflector, which gives it an advantage of concentrating more radiation on the centre of the solar still.
