摘要:The Monastery of the Royal Barefooted (Descalzas Reales) of Madrid turned into one of the most important religious centers of Madrid in the Ancient Régime. Its links with the royal family from its foundation, together with the profession of out-standing women both from the royal family and from important noble families of the time, allowed the Institution to acquire the above mentioned relevancy in religious celebrations and in different civil events. In this area, it is of great interest to know in depth the nuns that were members of this community. The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the relation of the nuns that professed in the Monastery from its foundation to the first years of the 20th century, using for this task new archive sources.
