摘要：Within the field of the sociology of intellectuals there are many works dealing with the relationship between politics and the intelligentsia. In the past few years, Bourdieu’s work has pushed it again to the frontline. In this article, therefore, I shall argue that some of the theoretical instruments provided by the author of Distinction may help to analyse systematically and with some precision the connections between the field of specialised cultural production and the political field. Later on, I shall also argue that, although Bourdieu’s work clarifies key aspects of this relationship, at some points his conceptual framework seems to be somehow problematic. Making use of other authors, such as Max Weber and Quentin Skinner, I shall elaborate an interpretation of the connections between cultural producers and the political debate that challenges some of the central elements sustaining the bourdieuan vision.
