摘要：In this paper analyses the relationship between social class, race, age, sexual identity and desire among men who practice cruising , the act of anonymous sexual relationships with other men in public space. The basic techniques used to obtain the data for analysis were through the qualitative methods of participant observation and interviews. This work show that the so-called gay community is a social construction that largely reproduces the stratification systems of society. In addition, it allows an analysis on how the the relationship among participants is structured according to the territory which it operates, the social class of the participants and their origin. Furthermore, it covers the identity conflicts originated from the heterosexual identity and homosexual practice in cruising areas.
