摘要：L’intervento mette in luce – attraverso l’esempio di Romeo e Giulietta di Prokofiev –, alcune caratteristiche e modalità del balletto narrativo moderno. Le versioni coreografiche di John Cranko e Kenneth MacMillan sono indicative di un modo di concepire e praticare questo genere per certi versi univoco, per altri del tutto personale e proprio di una poetica specifica. Tra gli argomenti: il libretto, il trattamento del testo teatrale, la pantomima e la nuova gestualità, il training del danzatore. Sarà presa come riferimento la versione originale del balletto di Leonid Lavrovskij e da ciò nascono riflessioni sul rapporto che il nuovo balletto inglese ha con quello russo, che già negli anni trenta aveva rimesso in auge il genere del dance-drama a serata intera.
其他摘要：This paper highlights some peculiarities and modes of the modern narrative ballet, taking as an example Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev. The choreographic versions by John Cranko and Kenneth MacMillan can be representative of the way to understand and practise this genre of dance, in some aspects univocal, in others entirely personal and specific of a poetics. Among the themes are the pantomime and the new gestures, the libretto, the adaptation of the play, and the dancer’s training. The essay also considers the original version of the ballet, choreographed by Lavrovskij, and it points to the relationship between the English ballet and Russian one which in the 1930s restored the full-length ballet.
