摘要:In this work the adsorption of Cr (VI) using 3 different adsorbents was studied. Evaluated adsorbents used were: commercial activated carbon, activated carbon obtained from coffee residues, and coffee residues. Adsorption experiments were carried out contacting a 5μg/ml synthetic aqueous solution of Potassium dichromate (Cr VI)) with different amounts of adsorbents. Cr VI concentration was determinate by spectrophotometry at 540 nm, and total chrome in solution was measured by atomic absorption. According with results coffee residue showed the best adsorption performance, showing a Freundlich-type isotherm behavior. The kinetic of the adsorption is second order with respect to Cr VI, and removal higher than 95% was obtained.
