摘要:This is a two-phase study, the first wasa literature review that aimed to identifya set of competencies for professionalpractice that would be relevant for thehealth care of People with disabilities(PwD). These competencies were thenused to plan a thirty-hour multidisciplinarycourse for undergraduate health carestudents. The educational intervention ledto improvements in the students’ learningexperiences, including the developmentof empathy and knowledge related to thecare of PwD, improved knowledge aroundaccessibility, and an awareness of the needto humanize the care of PwD. Studentsreported enhanced learning experiencesand an increase in knowledge related tothe care of PwD, and also highlighted theneed to humanize the care.
