摘要：O objetivo deste artigo consiste em apresentar uma discussão sobre o uso das origens como construção epistemológica da história e do poder político durante o século XVIII. Em destaque, estão o conceito de agenciamento das origens, em meio à historiografia do pastor protestante Simon Pelloutier e do padre católico Jacques Bossuet.
