摘要：Este estudo tem como objetivo discutir o conceito de “empoderamento”, a fim de promover o fortalecimento e o cuidado da família. Utilizou-se como linha condutora do estudo a revisão teórica do conceito de empoderamento e a sua discussão no âmbito da promoção da saúde e da proposta de um modelo de empoderamento aplicado ao sistema familiar. Conclui-se que o modelo de empoderamento, aplicado à família, determina mudança significativa no papel do profissional da saúde, tornando-o, entre outros aspectos, um parceiro importante na construção de caminhos para o ser família saudável. O estudo reforça que o conceito de empoderamento trabalha com as potencialidades e aspectos positivos da família, ultrapassando os modelos centrados nas fragilidades e problemas apresentados pelo sistema familiar. Aponta a necessidade de mais estudos e a construção de instrumentos que aprofundem a temática do empoderamento aplicado às famílias.
其他摘要：This study has the objective to discuss the empowerment concept to promote strength and caring for the family. The authors used as guideline for the study the theoretical revision of the empowerment concept and the discussions about its relation with health promotion and the proposal of a empowerment’s model applied to the familiar’s system. The results shows that the model of empowerment applied to the family, determines a significant change in the role of the health professionals, making them amongst other aspects, an important partners in the construction of healthful family system. This study reinforces the idea that the empowerment concept works with the potentialities and positive aspects of the family, overtaking the fragilities and problems centered models present in the familiar context. It points out the necessity of more studies and productions of instruments that intense studies on the empowerment theme applied to the families.
