摘要:The educative practices used nowadays in Brazilian society emphasized the value of dialog with children and concern with their subjective wellbeing. Concerning the forms that parents deal with improper behavior, they often use explanations, but physical and verbal punishment still used. The objective of this study is to investigate what reaction parents says that to have facing improper behavior and what do they feel punishing their kids, and what would be an ideal way of education, considering social differences. Therefore, it was interviewed 48 parents of students, aging from seven to ten, being 24 from middle class way school and 24 from popular class school. The results showed that parents coming from both classes use to talk to children as improper behavior happens; most of the interviewed of both classes states that they feel bad punishing their kids, but a moderated level punishment is ideal. So, meaningful differences between the groups were not found, allowing to state that Brazilian society of the XXI century tries to establish ways to educate in at easier ways, at least in the speech plane, where severe punishment is not considered the first alternative to correct children.
