摘要：Considering that the generations are bearers of history and representations of the world, studying how the transmission are given or even the transitions on familiar life becomes relevant. The objective of this research was to analyze the values and practices adopted by trigenerations family belonging to urban middle class and to verify if they are maintained or modified along the XX century. Through the thematic life history with elements of each generation of a same family, tries to describe the ordinary life, relationships, representations that each generation has of itself, the similarities and differences that occur as time pass and to analyze the life experiences in different phases of the cicle of the family life and its crossings with the one of the individual. The data of this study reveals alterations and permanencies in each generation, in different phases of the life cycle, of the individual, family, connected with different contexts in life.
