摘要：The presence of the teenagers in the family signals a stage in the family life cycle.With the purpose of understanding how families perceive the living together in family at this stage of their lives, we made a qualitative research, through open interviews with five families, in their residence. The comparative analysis alowed us to identify the following categories: Defining who is part of the family; Perceiving a new stage in the family life; Thinking about the children; Getting aware of the change in the teenagers lives; Peceiving the family from the teenagers standpoint; Reflecting about the experience of living in family and Talking about health and a healthy family. For the families in the adolescence stage, this is a singular process which brings changes to family life. While the parentes reveal that they maintain themselves in constant attention, the children look for independence, but they wish to live in family.
