摘要:On a resumed way, reflection about the historic evolution of the family are presented revisiting the beginning of the times; the roman-christicm epoch, the French revolution; XX century with the social reform; XX century with the feminist moviment and the intervention of judges and doctors on the private circle until nowadays, when nuclear family predominates. Throughout the revisitation a parallel with the evolution of the family in Brasil was estabilished. The family at present is being constructed from what is revoked on the old: models, myths and ilusion will be reassessed acording to the new forms of affective and sexual experience in which individualism is present. Nowaday predominates the nuclear family increase of sexual intercourses before wedding, occurence of pregnanci during adolescence, coexistence of monogamyc marriages with consensual unions and celebacy, increase of the number of separation and divorces, the existence of two or more successive unions, families of one only leader, many families in which the couple works out and families with a reduced number of sons.
