摘要：Family perspective is influencing nursing practice and theory. Despite this development, there are enough evidences on research and on students and nurses narratives about the difficulties for being with families in nursing situations. In this article, the author analyses three challenges that can help nurses getting close to families: teaching to think family, stimulating an advanced practice with families and constructing the knowledge on family nursing. The author concludes that overcoming the callings will increase the caring possibilities for nurses and families.
