摘要:An unbridled exchange of binding update messages have been observed in Mobile IP even for aninfrequent movement of a mobile node. This not only makes the mobile node energy inefficient but alsoincreases the signaling overhead. Even though binding lifetime and binding refresh cost are importantparameters, they haven’t received much attention from research community. This paper proposesalgorithms to calculate the binding lifetime and binding refresh cost based on parameters like speed ofmobile node, coverage area of mobility agents and session size in a TLMIPv6 environment. Analyticalinvestigation shows that proposed algorithm not only reduces the signaling load of the network but alsodiminish the processing overhead at mobility agents.
