摘要：The aim of this study is to understand Hindu women's way of life, in terms of family life, religious practices and work, as well as their relation with home home and neihbourhood. This analysis is made at the time of displacement from a slum to new residential apartments. The analysis includes evaluation and perception of their new residential space. Domestic space is seen as a privileged area for family activities that allow the maintenance and reproduction of cultural identities cosnidered vital for family and community cohesion.Key-words: Hindu women, Gujarati, Portela
