摘要：O presente artigo inicia-se com a análise de uma carta de Edmund Burke de Janeirode 1790, momento em que o estadista se declarou contrário à Revolução Francesa, paravinculá-la a outros textos do autor nos quais os aspectos orgânico e hereditário dasociedade civil, assim como o papel formador e deformador das palavras na atividadepolítica, são tratados. A segunda parte desse texto consiste na tradução e notas à traduçãoda referida carta de Janeiro de 1790.
其他摘要：The present paper begins with an analysis of a letter from EdmundBurke written in January 1790, the moment when the statesman declaredhimself against the French Revolution, in order to conjoin the letter with othertexts from the author where the organic and hereditary aspects of civil society,as well as the forming and deforming role of words in political activity, arediscussed. The second part of the text consists in the translation and notes ofthe aforesaid letter.
