摘要:The article assesses the academic use of business simulators. Business simulators or games can be used in academic activities, business training, organizational and human resources development, psychology research, supporting decision processes and as a tool for economic research. Its application to academic purposes include solving complex problems, developing team work and technical capabilities. A study in Germany suggests their main advantages to be the stimulus to systemic thinking and the development of decisionmaking capabilities. The time length and resources demanded for its use are the main disadvantages. It is suggested here that cheaper IT technology, especially cheaper internet, will allow more intensive use of tools like business simulators in the applied social sciences.
