摘要：The article discusses the educational reforms in Latin America in the 1990s. It is not intended to present new data, but rather to dialogue with the literature pertinent to the theme, showing how education has served the interests of the restricted accumulation of capital more than provided human emancipation. First, reforms and neoliberal economic policies are examined such as subsidies to try to understand howeducation contributed to the legitimation of the new social context. Next, educational reforms are discussed through the management and decentralization of education, the financigand and structuring of educational systems, mechanisms for assessment andcurriculum. Finally, the concluding remarks of the text are presented.Keywords: Educational reforms. Latin America. Neoliberalism.↓O artigo aborda as reformas educacionais latino-americanas nos anos de 1990. Não se pretende apresentar novos dados, mas dialogar com a literatura especializada pertinente ao tema, mostrando como a educação mais tem servido aos interesses da acumulação restrita do capital do que proporcionado a emancipação humana. Primeiramente, trata-se das reformas políticas e econômicas neoliberais como subsídio para tentar compreender como a educação contribuiu para a legitimação do novo contexto social. Em seguida, discutem-se as reformas educacionais por meio da gestão e da descentralização da educação, do financiamento e da estruturação dos sistemas educacionais, dos mecanismos de avaliação e do currículo.
